Job history: As AVP of strategic support for the leasing and fleet management business segment, Suzie provides strategic, financial and accounting support for some of Greenbrier's largest business units. She joined Greenbrier 17 years ago as an entry-level accounts receivable representative. She has since advanced to a controller role as the AVP of strategic support, becoming an essential part of the leasing team. She acts as the main contact for the leasing group to review deal structures and feasibility. Suzie has advised many transactions for Greenbrier's lease fleet of 17,000 rail cars.

Why she's influential as a leader: Suzie manages all accounting activities related to lease transactions, develops templates for organization and oversees reports to executive management, legal counsel, bankers, investors and trustees. She advises senior leadership and manages, tracks and makes recommendations for 25 strategic tactics identified by business unit leaders, supporting 20 business groups that account for over 87% of Greenbrier's organizational groups.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Suzie is a passionate leader and advocate in her community. She is the co-founder of the Asian Women Leaders Group, a nonprofit dedicated to Asian women entrepreneurs, business owners and leaders. Through that group, she provides networking, personal and professional development resources, and community news to empower other Asian female leaders in the community. She also co-founded Greenbrier's GBXCELS Women's Leadership Employee Resource Group, helping it to grow into the largest ERG at Greenbrier. She has mentored the next generation of female talent to empower Greenbrier's female workforce and develop their leadership skills.
