Job history: Carol began her 28-year career at STV as an electrical test engineer and grew into larger roles with increased responsibility. Her skills and leadership qualities have led to additional roles including program management and supervisory roles, eventually rising to VP. Carol leads the vehicle team's projects and pursuits with some of the firm's largest clients.

Why she's influential in technology: Carol has served as a mentor and manager of engineering project teams. She has managed projects for major transportation agencies including Maryland Department of Transportation-Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), Connecticut Department of Transportation, Metro-North Railroad and Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. She has managed numerous rail-car planning and procurement projects, been an active participant in American Public Transit Association and worked closely with the Federal Railroad Administration.

Carol has collaborated with numerous major transit authorities, crafting vehicle procurement specifications and offering strategic insight that transformed their vehicle planning and acquisition processes. Her work has helped redefine best practices in complex vehicle procurements as well as in the engineering and manufacturing of new rolling stock.

Her technical leadership has driven major advancements in vehicle technology, resulting in improved safety, reliability and diagnostic capabilities. Through her service in multiple professional organizations and committees, Carol advocated for enhancements to national rail-safety legislation. Her long-standing contributions have helped many authorities navigate the transition from legacy systems to modern rail technologies. She has overseen numerous landmark projects that continue to serve as the backbone of passenger service for transit authorities today.
