Union Pacific to test napping as a way to minimize train crew fatigue (April 1998)

Union Pacific plans to conduct a pilot project to evaluate napping as a means to minimize train crew fatigue.

To be conductive on selected St. Louis Service Unit areas, the program to be tested is similar to the one Burlington Northern Santa Fe already has adopted.

Napping is just one of a number of fatigue countermeasures UP is exploring.
