South Carolina short line marks completion of major improvements

Lancaster & Chester Railroad now can move more 286,000-pound cars at higher operating speeds on 49 miles of upgraded track between Chester and Kershaw. Gulf & Ohio Railways Inc.

Today, Lancaster & Chester Railroad executives will join federal, state and local officials to mark the completion of the Piedmont Freight-Rail Service Improvement Program in Chester, South Carolina.
