McWhorter succeeds Green as South Carolina Public Railways' president (8/27/2007)

The South Carolina Public Railways recently appointed Jeffrey McWhorter president to succeed Daniel Green, who will retire on Sept. 5.

McWhorter most recently served as vice president of operations and maintenance.

In addition, the railroad promoted Jimmy Stuart from VP of marketing and finance to senior VP.

A division of the South Carolina Department of Commerce, South Carolina Public Railways operates switching railroads the Port Utilities Commission of Charleston and Port Terminal Railroad, which serve State Ports Authority terminals, and CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern Corp. The division also operates a short line, the East Cooper and Berkeley Railroad, and provides technical assistance and consulting services regarding rail matters to state, local and municipal governments.
