Trinity Industries Inc. acquired the assets of Platinum Energy Services Corp. through a newly formed subsidiary. Based in Alberta, Canada, Platinum manufactures and resells oil and gas process and storage equipment, including various types of containers, separators, and treaters used at well sites and in midstream locations. The company operates out of two leased facilities in Calgary and one owned facility in Redcliff, Alberta. Also, Trinity announced Melendy Lovett, a member of Trinity’s board since 2012, will become senior vice president and chief administrative officer, effective March 10. Lovett recently announced her retirement from Texas Instruments as senior VP and president of its Education Technology business. In connection with this appointment, Lovett resigned from Trinity's board, according to a company press release.
Tutor Perini Corp. has obtained a $60 million contract from Related Cos. for construction of a replacement equipment maintenance building at the Hudson Yards site in New York in connection with the company's previously announced Amtrak Tunnel project. As part of that project, the previous building at the site required demolition. Under this contract, the company will construct a new, 62,000 square-foot building that will be used to service and maintain rail cars and other railroad equipment. Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter and be substantially completed in fourth-quarter 2015.
Parsons Brinckerhoff has named Anthony DeJohn the deputy business manager of the Northeast region. DeJohn will support the Northeast Regional Manager Bernard McNeilly by working with area managers of 10 Northeast offices on operational activities and business development. A Parsons Brinckerhoff vice president, DeJohn previously served as the firm’s New Jersey area manager. He has more than 30 years of experience in transportation planning and engineering.Jacobs Associates named Wayne Lindsay a senior associate. He spearheaded the opening of the firm’s new office in St. Louis, which will support tunnel and underground infrastructure projects with the Metropolitan Sewer District of St. Louis. Lindsay has been in the consulting industry for more than 25 years, with a focus on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
