Amsted Rail - Brakes

The Ellcon two-way wheel brake comes in two Models — 210 and 850. Turning the hand wheel clockwise sets the brake and counter-clockwise releases the brake. Any amount of setting and releasing can be accomplished throughout the brake's travel capacity, the company says. No quick-release feature exists on these brakes. The brakes have unlimited chain travel and can be furnished with four wheel diameters: 16, 18, 20 and 22 inches. Model 850 will produce forces of 3,345, 3,760, 4,180 and 4,600 pounds, respectively, with a force of 125 pounds on the rim of the wheel. Model 210 will produce forces of 4,150, 4,850, 5,600 and 6,300 pounds, respectively, with a force of 125 pounds on the rim of the hand wheel.
