Hougen Manufacturing Inc./Trak-Star: Electric Bonding Drill

Hougen Manufacturing Inc./Trak-Star

The electric-powered Trak-Star® Bonding Drill, model BD17, has improved ergonomics for making holes in the web of rails for mounting speed monitors, retarders, switch heaters and electrical signals. The bonding drill weighs 26.5 pounds and has a single carrying handle. Trak-Star's patented quill-feed arbor and single feed handle provides smooth, effortless holes, the company says. It drills holes up to 13/32-inch diameter, using flatted shank bonding bits. Bits are inserted in a Twister Bonding Bit Adapter and secured with a setscrew. The adapter has a quarter-turn style mounting for fast, no-tools installation into the drills arbor. A pressurized coolant system helps increase drill bit life, the company says.
