Rail Experience: Within CSX Technology, Hoover leads a large cross-functional organization. She guides the modernization of critical engineering and operations platforms that support track, structures and signaling workflows. Hoover has also championed safety-enhancing capabilities, including Automated Track Authority Management proximity alerts and improved End-of-Train visibility.
Her leadership is anchored in a "field-first" mindset, exemplified by the launch of the ONE CSX Technology check-in initiative. The program features a simple, direct feedback channel built into field tablets so frontline employees can share issues and ideas with product teams in real time. Hoover's ability to align engineering, technology and operations around shared outcomes has made her a trusted leader within CSX.
Mentorship Role: At CSX, Hoover mentors emerging leaders through ongoing, structured relationships, including monthly mentoring sessions. Her impact is amplified through her leadership in professional and community organizations. As communications chair for CSX's Women's Business Resource Group, she has advanced initiatives that connect women across career stages, creating mentorship opportunities through speaker panels, networking events and service projects.
As membership chair for the Jacksonville Chapter of the National Association of Railway Business Women, Hoover implemented outreach strategies that increased membership 33%. Through her leadership with the American Heart Association's STEAM Goes Red program, she also mobilized female mentors to encourage young women to pursue STEM pathways relevant to rail and transportation.
Hoover considers mentorship a defining element of her leadership and not a side effort. She opens doors for others, builds inclusive networks and equips the next generation of rail professionals with the confidence, skills and support to lead.
