Rail Experience: Pavlica has held roles in IT project management, security infrastructure, telecommunications and application development. A CN employee for nearly 20 years, Pavlica has graduated from the Class I's internal leadership development and train conductor trainee programs, bringing a railroader perspective to every technological decision. He has supported major initiatives that strengthened CN's operational resilience and modernization, including leading the integration of the railroad's core operating systems with positive train control. Additionally, his successful management of merger cutover, major data center relocation and the modernization of IT infrastructure and platforms has fortified CN's digital backbone. Pavlica has built frameworks for data management, started the AI Working Group and launched foundational governance initiatives, laying the groundwork for future AI experimentation.

Mentorship Role: Pavlica consistently develops people in ways that translate into real railroad outcomes, building capability and confidence across teams. Pavlica holds consistent skip-level meetings, coffee talks and technical knowledge sessions. He supports multiple interns and has mentored individuals through sponsorship. Beyond individual recognition, he mentors through operational discipline and transparency, guiding leaders through changes in a way employees can understand. The opportunities he creates and the structured development programs he champions are intertwined with the railroad's mission: safer, more resilient operations, stronger regulatory and governance discipline and a better-prepared pipeline of leaders who can sustain CN's technology-enabled future.
