Rail Experience: Gallagher started his career in the U.S. Army, serving for nearly 12 years with roles including infantry team leader and intelligence systems repair technician. In 2012, Gallagher started working in the rail industry, joining BNSF Railway through its Experienced Front Line Supervisor program. He worked in maintenance-of-way operations, overseeing safety and production for more than 30 employees spread across 300 miles of territory. After BNSF, Gallagher joined National Railroad Safety Services as assistant manager of safety and training. He now works at RailPros, which he has served for nearly five years.

Mentorship Role: Gallagher is a mentor through the RailPros Academy, an internal program that provides ongoing mentorship and development to members of the company's Roadway Worker In Charge (RWIC/flagging) team. He visits jobsites and offers coaching and advice to less experienced team members to ensure they have a rock-solid foundation of industry knowledge to build their careers upon. He also helps junior flagging trainers and less experienced managers master complex railroad regulations and develop critical soft skills, such as public speaking, so they can better lead their own training classes. In 2018, RailPros' flagging program became the first in the nation to earn FRA approval under the new 243 regulations. Gallagher's commitment to developing flaggers and trainers at RailPros is a key reason why the company continues to live up to its strong reputation. By equipping flaggers with the skills needed to excel as rail safety professions, Gallagher ensures that railway workers across the nation can work safely on their jobsites and return home at the end of each day.
