Rail Experience: Robitaille has 14 years of rail industry experience between leadership roles at CN and Metrolinx. His career showcases a progression from technical and commercial roles to frontline operations and cross-functional leadership in infrastructure delivery, operational performance and people leadership. In 2014, Robitaille joined Metrolinx, where he has led disruption preparedness across a network serving over 200,000 passengers daily, established KPIs for punctuality, safety and customer experience, and strengthened coordination across operations. Currently, he leads a team of about 30 and provides oversight across multi-billion-dollar capital programs.
Mentorship Role: Robitaille is a registered mentor with Metrolinx's Emerging Leaders employee resource group, the Operational Readiness & Performance business unit and the Operations Business Services division employee development programs. He has mentored over a dozen professionals and maintains up to three mentees at any given time. Robitaille's mentorship approach is grounded by preparation, structure, consistency and challenge. He aligns each mentee's career goals with organizational priorities, then establishes structured development plans with defined milestones.
His focus areas reflect the evolving challenges of the rail industry, including electrification, capital program delivery, risk management, data-driven decision-making, predictive analytics and technology integration.
He also created a "Lessons in Leadership" masterclass about building and managing high-performing team for managers in his division. Due to high demand, Robitaille has expanded the course across Metrolinx, providing dozens with practical insights into leadership effectiveness, team dynamics and human behavior in safety-critical environments.
