Arva Industries: Track utility vehicle
Arva Industries Inc. has delivered a track utility vehicle (TUV) to the Port Authority Transit Corp. (PATCO).
The unit was designed to provide third rail de-icing and snow removal, Arva officials said in a press release. The TUV also uses high-pressure water jets to remove leaves and leaf residue from the top of the rail.
In addition, the vehicle features a Cummins diesel engine that meets the Environmental Protection Agency's Tier 4 emissions standard, as well as climate-controlled cabs at each end. The TUV can reach a top speed of 40 mph.
The vehicle also can be equipped with retractable scaffold platforms, a scissor lift platform, hose reels for hydraulic or pneumatic tools, and other attachments.
