TMCA installs officers, names year's top marketing executive


Transportation Marketing & Communications Association (TMCA) members recently elected the organization’s leadership team for 2006-07.

The officers, who began serving July 1, are:
• Tom Nightingale, Con-Way vice president of communications and chief marketing officer, president;
• John Ferguson, Schneider National Inc. general manager of Canada, immediate past president;
• Edward Moritz, Con-Way vice president of marketing, vice president;
• Mark Miller, Crowley Maritime Corp. director of corporate communications, treasurer; and
• Susan Terpay, Norfolk Southern Corp. director of corporate communications, secretary.

TMCA also named Chuck Lounsbury, former Ryder senior vice president of strategy, marketing and acquisitions, the 2006 Marketing Executive of the Year. Created in 2003, the award recognizes a professional who “leverages the value of marketing to achieve organizational success,” according to TMCA.

The association represents marketing, sales and communications professionals serving North American transportation companies and agencies, including railroads, trucking companies, airlines, ocean carriers, third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, ports, technology firms and transit agencies.
