CSX has created a new marketing team focused on research and analytics and has expanded its sales team in order to drive “sustainable, profitable growth," company officials announced yesterday.

As part of the restructuring of sales and marketing, CSX will add two new vice presidents and increase its focus on port and short-line development, CSX officials said in a press release.

Kevin Boone was appointed VP of marketing and strategy to lead the newly created marketing team, which will focus on deep research and analytics to identify and develop new business opportunities.

Boone previously served as VP of corporate affairs and chief investor relations officer at CSX.

Arthur Adams was appointed VP of sales and customer engagement to lead an expanded sales team focused on business growth with small and medium-sized customers. He also will lead sales and marketing functions focused on enhancing the customer experience.

Prior to his new role, Adams was head of CSX's marketing services.

In addition to Boone and Adams, the sales and marketing team includes:

  • Shantel Davis, vice president of real estate and facilities management;
  • Maryclare Kenney, vice president of intermodal and automotive;
  • Tim McNulty, vice president of agricultural products;
  • Dean Piacente, vice president of industrial products; and
  • John Fall, senior director of revenue and strategy.

“While some roles and positions are changing, the realignment is intended to improve the sales and marketing organization’s strategic effectiveness,” said Mark Wallace, executive vice president of sales and marketing. “It also includes investments in employee development to cultivate new capabilities in sales, market planning and strategy to complement our teams’ extensive market and customer knowledge.”
