Yesterday, OmniTRAX Inc. announced it promoted Darcy Brede to executive vice president of rail operations to succeed Robert Parker, who was named chief operating officer in February. He will be responsible for managing all North American rail operations and integrating acquisitions.

An 18-year railroad veteran, Brede most recently served as regional VP of rail for Canada and general manager of the short-line holding company's Hudson Bay Railway Co. He previously served BC Rail Ltd. in various management positions.

"Darcy has proven that he can effectively and efficiently run a large-scale rail operation," said Parker in a prepared statement.

OmniTRAX also named Greg Sullivan general manager of Hudson Bay Railway to succeed Brede; Kevin Woods, GM of the Carlton Trail Railway; and Dennis Sawchuk, GM of the Okanagan Valley Railway and TransCanada Switching.

During the past 15 years, Sullivan has served in various supervisory positions for OmniTRAX, Canadian National Railway Co. and Athabasca Northern Railway Ltd. Woods has more than 30 years' experience in railroading and spent the past 10 years serving in various supervisory roles for BC Rail and Neoteric Harvesting. Sawchuk has served OmniTRAX the past four years after serving BC Rail for 28 years in various capacities.
