Union Pacific Railroad Vice President and General Manager-Automotive Linda Brandl recently was recognized in the 10th annual “Women Worth Watching” feature in Profiles in Diversity Journal.

The magazine recognizes outstanding women executives to encourage aspiring business leaders and help advance women into leadership ranks.

Brandl is responsible for developing and implementing automotive market strategy, and managing customer relationships for the automotive marketing team. Last year, UP’s automotive business generated more than $1.2 billion in freight revenue.

Since joining UP in 1988, Brandl has held various management positions in the railroad's premium operations group and marketing/sales organization, including training and quality. She previously was president of Union Pacific Distribution Services, assistant VP-energy and VP of the Class I's national customer service center.

“From growing up on a cattle ranch to working at Union Pacific, I learned it takes a combination of hard work, a willingness to embrace change and teamwork to be successful,” said Brandl in a prepared statement. “I am fortunate to be part of a great team and encourage those around me to not be afraid to leave their comfort zones.”
