Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) plans to work with Greyhound Lines Inc. to enable rail passengers to purchase bus tickets at two Metrorail stations.

Under a pilot program, WMATA and Greyhound plan to install Greyhound kiosks near entrances at the New Carrollton and Vienna/Fairfax-GMU stations.

"This partnership provides customers convenient, seamless transfers from mass transit to intercity bus within one location," said Ted Burk, Greyhound’s vice president of customer service, in a prepared statement.

WMATA expects to install the kiosks this spring.
