First of five Northstar Corridor locomotives reaches remanufactured stage


The first locomotive for the Northstar Corridor commuter-rail system has rolled off the production line in Boise, Idaho.

MotiverPower Inc. is remanufacturing five locomotives for the Northstar Corridor Development Authority. The units will operate on a 40-mile line between Minneapolis and Big Lake, Minn., beginning late next year. The locomotive builder will begin delivering the units in fall.
