Surface Transportation Board Chairman Patrick Fuchs yesterday announced the addition of Sharon Clark, Rob Reilly and Chris Bertram as senior advisers to the chairman.

The temporary-term appointments were made to advise Fuchs and help drive reforms, STB officials said in a press release.

Clark is a former senior vice president with responsibility for transportation, compliance and regulatory affairs with Perdue AgriBusiness LLC. She has wide-ranging experience in grain merchandising, commodity trading, transportation, and regulatory affairs and compliance.

Reilly is a former executive with BNSF Railway Co. and CN. Most recently, he served as executive VP and chief operating officer at CN, where he led a safety culture change. He began his railroad career in 1989 at the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Co. (now BNSF) and held key positions across BNSF, ultimately serving as VP of operations.

Bertram has held senior transportation policy and finance positions on Capitol Hill and served as assistant secretary for budget and programs and chief financial officer at the U.S. Department of Transportation. In addition, he previously served the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure;  the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation; and the White House Office of Management and Budget.

Clark, Reilly and Bertram will work with Fuchs to provide strategic counsel and support initiatives to streamline processes, improve collaboration and transparency, and ensure a more efficient and effective regulatory environment for the nation’s surface transportation network, STB officials said.

“Sharon, Rob and Chris bring extensive experience, immense knowledge and invaluable perspectives that will greatly benefit the board’s reform efforts,” said Fuchs.
