Rising Stars

Progressive Railroading is soliciting nominations for its first “Rising Stars” recognition of the up-and-coming leaders in North America’s railroad industry.

Progressive Railroading defines a “Rising Star” as someone under the age of 40 who has made, or is making, a positive impact on his or her company, organization, department or team, and is viewed by others — peers, colleagues, supervisors, clients, associates — as a rising star in the rail industry. Progressive Railroading will select 20 Rising Stars and publish their profiles in the magazine's September 2013 issue.

The people we are looking for must be younger than 40 years of age on Sept. 1, 2013, and currently working in North America's railroad industry. To be considered for Rising Star recognition, candidates must be willing to participate in our process, answer questions from Progressive Railroading staff and supply their photo for publication.

To nominate a Rising Star, please submit the survey form below or mail or fax a statement detailing the nominee's qualifications and accomplishments along with a resumé. Explain to us in a written statement how the nominee is making a positive difference in the railroad industry.

Candidates will be considered for recognition based on various qualities, including their contributions to railroading, career achievements and demonstrated leadership, education and/or professional training, and professional association activity or community involvement.

The nomination deadline is April 1, 2013. Nomination submissions after that date will not be considered for recognition this year.
