TransitHound™ cell phone detection systems have been implemented on thousands of streetcars, mining cars and pieces of heavy machinery. The system is used to covertly monitor cellular activity and alert on-site operators or off-site managers about all unauthorized and distracting cell phone usage. TransitHound detects active voice, data and texting from smartphones and can be configured to trigger cameras, DVRs, sirens or visual alerts at predetermined thresholds for any kind of radio frequency environment. The system can serve as both a deterrent and time-stamped confirmation of operator safety violations."We are proud to have played a small role in the reduction of railway accidents. TransitHound helps enforce railway safety guidelines and any industry suffering from accidents caused by wireless distractions," said Scott Schober, chief executive officer and president of Berkeley Varitronics Systems Inc., which manufactures TransitHound.TransitHound will be demonstrated live at the Railway Interchange 2017 Expo (BOOTH 1943) in Indianapolis from September 17-20. The product will appear alongside the newly released BlueHound bluetooth and popular PocketHound portable cell phone detectors.
