The event aims to raise community awareness of security efforts and strengthen partnerships between the national passenger railroad and local emergency response agencies.

Participating agencies include Amtrak’s Police & Security Department; Chicago Fire Department; Cook County Sheriff’s Department and Bomb Squad; Federal Bureau of Investigation; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; Secret Service; Postal Inspector; Department of Homeland Security; Transportation Security Administration; Federal Emergency Management Agency; Department of Health and Human Services; Illinois Department of Transportation; Cardiac Sciences; and the American Red Cross.

The agencies will exhibit displays such as mobile command centers. Amtrak has scheduled similar expos throughout the year at major stations.
