EXT-100: The EXT truck mounted brake conversion system
The EXT truck mounted brake conversion system allows existing Wabcopac type
truck mounted brake systems to remain in service by applying an approved
slack adjuster. The system is easy to install and adjust the same as a body
mounted system - turn the sleeve nut to adjust piston travel in or out.
Once proper piston travel is achieved simply tighten the jam nut.
The EXT system meets AAR requirements for Extended service Status cars (50
year life cars). The deadline for having ALL cars equipped with a slack
adjuster is December 31, 2013 (AAR Field Manual Rule 90.B.1.g.)
The system is proven with over 2,000 car sets already in service.
