Maryland transit officials to update public on Purple Line project details
The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) will kick off a series of open house meetings during the next two weeks to provide updates on the proposed Purple Line project.
MTA staff will discuss corridor-wide information, including project modifications made since fall 2011, as well as the final environmental impact statement, which will be submitted to the Federal Transit Administration in the next couple of months, administration officials said in a prepared statement.
The Purple Line is a proposed 21-station light-rail line that would run from Bethesda in Montgomery County to New Carrollton in Prince George's County.
The meetings will be held May 7, 9, 11, 14 and 15 in various locations along the 16-mile corridor.
