TriMet registers record passenger count in October

The ridership records keep coming. The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) posted all-time-high monthly riderhip in October, registering 9.3 million rides on its light-rail and bus systems.

Average weekly light-rail ridership totaled 699,700 trips, a 7.9 percent increase compared with October 2007, the agency recently announced. Average weekday boardings totaled 111,300, up 3.4 percent.
