The current contract between the railroad and union — which represents about 800 clerical and intermodal workers — expires on Dec. 31.
To take effect in in January, the new contract provides wage increases of 3 percent in each of the next five years and helps ensure the Class I's pension plan is sustainable for employees, retirees and the railroad, CP officials said in a prepared statement.
The contract also includes "provisions for productivity and efficiency enhancements," said Peter Edwards, CP's vice president of human resources and industrial relations.
