MBTA completes Uphams Corner station improvements
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) recently completed a $7 million modernization project at the Uphams Corner commuter-rail station.
The agency improved the station’s lighting, and added new high-level platforms, canopies, access ramps, electronic message boards and pedestrian walkways. The project is part of a $37 million program under which MBTA will rehabilitate stations, bridges, tracks and signal systems along the 9.2-mile Fairmount Line, which serves the city of Boston.
