Cattron-Theimeg obtains locomotive remote-control system orders from Belgian, Swiss railroads

Yesterday, Cattron-Theimeg Inc. announced its European arm in Moenchenglabach, Germany, received orders for 134 locomotive remote-control (LRC) systems from two major European railways. The Belgium Railways and Swiss Federal Railways ordered 80 and 54 systems, respectively.

Featuring dual microprocessors and a modular design, Cattron's TH-EC/LO Radio Remote Control system meets European locomotive safety regulations and is certified by the European National Railway System.

"The substantial orders we have received recently in Europe and the U.S. for our locomotive remote-control systems demonstrates our ability to provide a technologically superior product anywhere in the world," said Jim Kingerski, Cattron senior vice president of sales and marketing, in a prepared statement.

In March, the supplier received an order from Union Pacific Railroad for 113 Accuspeed™ LRC systems featuring 220 MHz technology.

Operating plants in the Unites States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil and Europe, Cattron has implemented about 10,000 rail-related LRCs — including more than 5,000 locomotive applications — throughout the world.
