RFQ-Replacement/Upgrade-Electrical substation

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey intends to pre-qualify prospective bidders for the following: Contract: PAT-624.154 - "Replacement and Upgrade of the Christopher Street Substation.” The contract referenced herein involves replacement and upgrade of the electrical substation equipment including and not limited to furnishing, installation, and commissioning of four 3000 kilowatt (KW) heavy duty traction power rectifiers, transformers, and switchgear; regenerative braking energy storage equipment; 38 kilovolt (KV) circuit breakers; medium voltage feeder cables; Direct Current (DC) switchgear; auxiliary power distribution system; Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and associated equipment. The total construction cost for the work required under this contract is estimated to be in the range of $25 to $30 million. Qualification information is to be submitted by June 29, 2009, and it is anticipated that bid documents will be available to pre-qualified bidders on or about October 2009. In order to pre-qualify for the said projects, all participating firms must execute and submit the Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure agreement with their RFQ submittal package. Safety Officer (Rail)

The San Mateo County Transit District seeks a Safety Officer (Rail) will help develop and implement safety and environmental programs for Rail Transportation, Development and the Contract Operator; conduct and supervise safety classes and training; coordinate with Rail Transportation and Development to prepare annual System Safety Program Plan updates; review current safety practices of contractors, consultants, construction teams, etc.; oversee independent safety compliance inspections and audits; review injury and illness prevention programs and safety practices; and other duties as assigned. Must have sufficient full-time experience in industrial, construction, and/or environmental safety, including sufficient experience in the railroad industry. Must be proficient in Railroad General Code of Operations, Maintenance of Way Book of Rules, and other applicable rules and regulations. Must be computer literate. Bachelor`s degree and prior direct Class 1 freight or commuter rail safety experience desirable. Must qualify on Caltrain Standard Procedures for Maintenance and Track Construction.
